In this article, we'll take a look at the way in which we can make the "Mark lesson as complete" button available for a student of your online school only after they have finished taking a quiz/test from that lesson.
You can very easily achieve this, as the option comes as a stand-alone feature in any quiz you add to one of your Thrive Apprentice lessons.
To get to that lesson, access your Thrive Apprentice course:
Then, go to the "Content" tab:
Look for the lesson in which you have added your quiz and edit its content:
This opens the Thrive Architect editor, from where you are able to edit the content of this lesson. Select the quiz that you've added, by clicking on it, in the editor:
As you do this, the quiz options will appear in the left sidebar. Go to the "Apprentice Options" section:
Enable the "Control the 'mark as complete' behaviour based on the results on this quiz" option:
Once you do that, you will be able to control in which instances should the quiz be marked as complete, based on the results of the students. The options available in this list will depend on the type of quiz you are using.
We have written a detailed article with each quiz type and the specific options that appear in this section, so make sure to check it out if you need more information on this.
As you've set this up, you can now ensure that the "Mark lesson as complete" button will be unavailable for someone who has not finished the quiz/passed the test:
As they pass the test (or complete it, depending on the options you've chosen), the button will become available and they can move on to the next lesson:
And this is how you can make the "Mark lesson complete" button available depending on the quiz progress/status of a student. I really hope this article was useful to you. Make sure to leave a smile below if it was!
