Configuring Facebook Conversion API Using PixelYourSite

Follow the steps in this article if you want to configure Facebook Conversion API using PixelYourSite.

Please keep in mind that, for this setup, there are no particular steps to be taken in your Thrive Dashboard, you can simply follow the steps as shown in the PixelYourSite tutorials such as this one.

However, we’re also going to describe the process of configuring Facebook Conversion API in this article:

Install and Activate the Plugin

Naturally, you will have to make sure that you have installed and activated PixelYourSite. The plugin can be installed from your WordPress admin dashboard, by accessing “Plugins” -> “Add New” and looking for it using the search bar.

Once you’ve found the plugin, click on “Install Now”:

After the installation has been completed, activate it:

You can then go ahead and access Facebook Events Manager, to generate an access token and configure your app.

Access Events Manager and Generate a Token

Once you access the Facebook Events Manager page and log in if you have to, you can go ahead and set up a new web event. For that, from your Facebook Business dashboard, go to the left sidebar and access the “Events Manager” tab:

If you have to set up a new event, go ahead and do that, by clicking on “Connect data sources”:

When it comes to selecting the data source, choose “Web”:

Then, choose the “Conversions API” option:

And set up the web event:

Once the new web event is ready, access its settings and scroll down to get to the “Conversions API” section and click on “Generate access token”:

As you do that, a token will be generated and you can copy it to your clipboard:

Access PixelYourSite from your WordPress Admin Dashboard

Now, in order to finish configuring the connection, go back to the backend of your site, in your admin dashboard, and access PixelYourSite:

In the plugin dashboard, go to the “Facebook Pixel” section and click on the “Click for settings” button:

Set it up as such:

  • 1 – enable Conversion API & Advanced Matching;

  • 2 – enter your Facebook Pixel ID;

  • 3 – enter the Access Token that you’ve just generated;

Scroll down to the end of the page and click on “Save Settings”:

You can then also go ahead and clear your cache and you’re all done with the setup and start using Conversion API Events.
