“Course Overview” templates are an important part of creating and designing a course with Thrive Apprentice because they allow you to display all the relevant information regarding your course in one single place.

When you start using Thrive Apprentice, you already have a "Course Overview" template available in your library, that you can customize anytime:

Nevertheless, you can also add new “Course Overview” templates whenever you need to, following the steps below:

Access the Thrive Apprentice Dashboard

First, you will have to access the Thrive Apprentice dashboard and its “Template editor” section.

To do that, go to your WordPress admin dashboard, hover over the “Thrive Dashboard” menu item from the left side, and click on “Thrive Apprentice” from the sub-menu that appeared:

Look for the “Design” section from the left sidebar and click on it:

Click on the "Edit Design" button in order to start customizing the design currently applied on your Thrive Apprentice courses:

And in the new dashboard that opens, access the "Template editor" section and click on "Manage templates":

Add & Set Up the New Course Overview Template

The “Templates” section that opens is where view the already existing template and add new ones:

Just as already mentioned, you can either edit the existing templates or create new ones.

If you want to edit a template, simply hover over the one you want and click on "Edit":

To add a new template, you have to click on "+Add New":

This will open the pop-up window with the options for adding and setting up the new template:

You will need to complete/choose a few aspects of the new template here, before being able to add it, as follows:

New Template Name

The first thing you need to do is to name the new template. Enter the name you want in the “New Template Name” section of the pop-up:

Choose Content Type

Then, you will have to choose the content type, depending on how you would like to use this template :

As this example is focused on creating a course overview template, we will go ahead and select "Course Overview":

Next, you have the option of choosing to start from scratch on this new template, or to choose an already made design:

Start from Scratch

If you want to build the design for this template from scratch and customize it entirely by yourself then simply click on the "Start from Scratch" button:

After you do that, the template will be added to your list and you can go ahead and access the editor as shown below:

Choose Template

You can also proceed with selecting an already made template design if you want:

Selecting this option will open the library with all the available templates:

Use the filtering options from the left sidebar if you want to browse through various categories of templates:

Decide on the template you want and after you select it, click on "Create Template" to save your selection:

Your newly created template will be listed in the template library. If you hover over it, you will be able to edit it and customize it to your liking:

Keep in mind that even though you have selected a pre-defined template, you can still access the Thrive Apprentice editor and customize your template. This way you can make sure it is suitable for the courses you want to apply it to.

In addition to the already explained steps, there are still other features and options you can use here. The articles linked below might help you find out more about how to get the most out of your Thrive Apprentice editor:
