If you want to learn the basics of creating and setting up Focus Areas, please check this entry first.

Focus Areas have detailed targeting options, so you can show the perfect offer to visitors based on which part of your website they are on. However, you can only ever show one Focus Area in one specific location.

For example, you can set it to show on posts of a specific category or page. But what if you want to show a Focus Area on both posts and pages? Or what if you want the same opt-in box to appear above and below your posts?

Here's how to do just that:

1) Create Your Focus Area

The first step is to simply create the Focus Area you want to display in multiple locations, exactly the way you want it to appear.

2) Select the First Location

In the targeting options, set the first of the multiple places where you want to show this Focus Area.

3) Go to the Focus Areas List and use the "Clone" Feature

Go back to the overview of your Focus Areas (by clicking on "Focus Areas" in the sidebar in your WP admin interface), hover over the newly created Focus area, and click on the "Clone" link that appears:

4) New Title, New Targeting

This will duplicate the Focus Area and take you directly to the editing view of the newly created clone. Set a new title for it and use the targeting options to select another location for this Focus Area to show.

The result will be that two identical Focus Areas will be displayed in two different locations on your site.

5) Repeat as Necessary

You can repeat the above steps as often as you want, to create more Focus Area clones to show in more locations.
