Sharing an Image, Screenshot, or Screencast in a Support Conversation

Sometimes it’s very helpful if you can add a screenshot or a screencast video of the problem that you’re facing, so we can clearly see what the issue is.

Adding an image to the conversation

After opening the conversation, you can add an image straight from there, using the “Attach file” option:

A pop-up window will open, and you will be able to browse through your computer and select the image that you want to add to the conversation:

The image will immediately be sent to our team.

Adding a screenshot/screencast using CloudApp

However, if you want to do all this without saving the file to your computer, we recommend using a free tool called CloudApp.

Where to Get CloudApp

You can get the CloudApp software for free, here:

After the download has been complete, you have to set CloudApp up by going through the installation wizard. Then, you either have to create an account or sign in if you already have one. After you sign in, you will be able to start using the app.

How to Use CloudApp

There are more ways in which you can use CloudApp. You can take screenshots, record videos of your screen, etc. In order to see how to do these and how to use CloudApp in general, please take a look at the separate tutorials linked below:

Once you’ve captured an image or video, you can share the media. The link is automatically copied into your clipboard. The link has a structure similar to this: https://share.getcloudapp.com/ example.

In order to add the media to your page, you can either directly use the link mentioned above (that is automatically copied into your clipboard), or you can click on the notification to get the link.

If you click on the notification, you will be sent to a page where your media will be shown. Now, you need to copy the URL from that page:

Note: Make sure that the URL has this structure: https://share.getcloudapp.com/6dhr5qu.

If the URL has a different structure, make sure you click on “Copy link” in the app:

This is the URL that you can simply paste into your support conversation:

Both methods work just as fine – Choose the one that you see fit.
